Requirements
City ordinance requires that all dogs and cats wear a license tag issued by the City. Owners must have their pets vaccinated for rabies before applying for a pet license. Proof of vaccination is required in order to obtain a license.
The maximum number of dogs allowed for a single family home is 2. The maximum number of cats allowed for a single family home is 2, unless the cats are indoor cats, then the maximum allowed is 4.
The maximum number of dogs allowed for an apartment is 1. The maximum number of cats allowed for an apartment is 1, unless the cats are indoor cats, then the maximum allowed is 2.
Valid Dates
All pet licenses are valid from date of purchase to December 31st of each year, at which time a license is due for its annual renewal. All pet license renewals are effective January 1st and expire December 31st of each year.
Fees
The pet license fee is $15. Owners who show proof that their pet has been neutered or spayed will pay a reduced fee of $10.
Proof of Vaccination
A current certificate of vaccination must accompany the pet license application.
