On Saturday, April 30th, volunteers gathered in neighborhoods throughout Chicago Heights, completing free home repairs at 16 homes throughout the city. Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, Commissioner Deborah Sims and Mayor David Gonzalez recognized the great efforts of the enthusiastic volunteers who gathered to complete work in recognition of National Rebuilding Day. Sixteen houses in Chicago Heights received free home repairs coordinated by Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago, a nonprofit organization funded by donations from large corporations, small businesses, and public and private nonprofit organizations. Sincere thanks to the volunteers from the county, union trades, business and nonprofit groups who donated their time to complete a variety of repairs and renovations at each of the homes!
