  1. SPECIAL 24-HOUR WARMING CENTER - Chicago Heights City Hall Municipal Building

    January 30, 2019, 8:00 AM - January 31, 2019, 8:00 AM @ Chicago Heights City Hall Municipal Building

    The Chicago Heights City Hall Municipal Building, located at 1601 Chicago Road, will be open and serve as a special 24-hour Warming Center starting this Wednesday, January 30th at 8:00 AM through 8:00 AM Thursday morning, January 31st. City Hall will resume regular business hours on Thursday, Jan. 31st at 8:30 AM. The Chicago Heights Police Department, located at 1601 South Halsted Street, is also a 24-hour warming center. Warming centers with daytime hours include: • Bloom Township Center, 425 South Halsted Street, and • Chicago Heights Public Library, 25 West 15th Street. Please use precaution if you must be out and are traveling, as winds may cause drifting snow to accumulate and ice forms easily in these temperatures. Keep emergency flares and warm blankets in your vehicle, exercise caution and drive defensively.     Please Note: The Ward 6 Residents’ Meeting originally scheduled for Thursday, January 31st has been CANCELLED due to the severe cold winter weather.
