For Immediate Release:
Chicago Heights Police Officers are growing BEARDS again starting October 31st, 2019 in a collaborative effort to raise awareness for children in need and to support local families. In 2016, for the first time in police department history, Chief Rogers allowed CHPD officers to grow BEARDS with the agreement that it had to be for a great cause. During that fall/winter months, Chicago Heights Police Officers grew BEARDS, raised money internally and donated all the proceeds to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Every year the department picks a different children’s hospital to donate to.
This year, officers again are going to grow BEARDS to bring attention to two great fundraising causes:
Our goal is to make this a brighter holiday season by collecting toys for some of our local children and families who may need a little help during the holidays, and providing a financial contribution to Lurie Children’s Hospital in support of their service and continued research in providing medical care for children.
We are asking for EVERYONE’s help for these two great causes! Unopened toys can be dropped off at the Chicago Heights Police Department from October to December. Please follow the link below for more information or click on the following link to make your charitable donation.
